Ramsay Orta, the 22-year-old who captured the incident that
led to the death of Eric Garner, was convicted on the same day the NYPD officer,
Daniel Pantaleo, who chocked Garner to death, was set free.
Orta was arrested on August 2nd for possession of
weapons. A Staten Island grand jury found him guilty of felony. He also has
other pending charges leveled at him.
Orta pleads not guilty, and claims that he is being framed
for crimes he never committed. “When they
searched me, they didn't find nothing on me,” Orta says, “And the same cop that searched me, he told me clearly himself, that
karma's a bitch, what goes around comes around.”
His wife Chrissie Ortiz has also been arrested for alleged
assaults on August. She believes the charges against her husband are ‘BS.’ Ortiz
says that she wants justice for Eric Garner and her husband.
